About Me

Françoise-Marie Thein: Naples, Florida, United States; I studied Decorative Arts in Brussels, Belgium, and while teaching Fine Arts at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Diekirch, Luxembourg for several years, I started working as an independent artist. Over the years, I have refined the fine art of watercolor on silk and also turned to charcoal sketching, oil on canvas and my passions, sculpture, terra cotta, ceramics, and fused glass. I moved to the US in 1989, and lived in Greenwich, Connecticut.I have worked at Rye Arts Center and at the Art Life Studio, with sculptors Ron Mineo and Michael J. Keriopian in Port Chester, NY. Since 2006 I'm residing in Naples, Florida, where I have worked with sculptor Frank de la Roche at the Art League of Bonita Springs, Florida, where I am an active member. My sculptures are in terra cotta, wax, resin, stone and bronze, my other art is fused glass, mosaics, and paintings. My works can be found in private, corporate and public collections in the U.S., Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Japan, Ireland, Bermuda.
